back to the subject - Homefront
There was always a tendency in American subculture to rationalize the need to dominate the world and to wage wars abroad. If there was no ultimate fear that some crazy bastard dictator, and of course communist, will invade The US of A, there wouldn’t be a need to send all those boys to oil rich countries, and if that policy fails and it will eventually, like in that Iron Maiden song, as everything in this world is doomed as soon as it is born (as soon as you’re born you’re dying) that black day for “democracy” will come. Thus we have the resurrection of the “Red Dawn” all over again but with different villain, North Korea instead of USSR, because of the climate change. The resistance is the same – Wolverines.
As for the futuristic weapons, not much is done; the biggest thing is the Goliath UAV that fires laser guided rockets, big deal.
If you want to destroy America try World in Conflict, game that takes place in the fictional past 1989 when the invasion was still possible, while the maps are still pretty accurate locations are fictional, and probably if you think about it you will guess why; imagine that you are a poor American gamer who just bought new game and starts playing and BOOM there goes his house blown by the evil Kim Jong Junior’s army – read Yellows, Gooks, and other Slant-eyed pricks. I know how I felt when I played Rainbow6 which first level was taking place on Kosovo and when I had to kill Serbian soldiers to get to the objective – UNINSTALL, and fuck off Tom Clancy.
I have seen nothing impressive that will separate this game from next one, and definitely no improvement was made on graphics and video or textures for that matter.
If you want to play GPS localized and satellite photo accurate game – try STALKER Call of Pripyat
P.S. I would like to see Pifi's idea come to life - Man in Tights
